Analyst, The Anthropic Institute

The role

This role sits within The Anthropic Institute, a new public-facing research function focused on understanding how powerful AI systems affect economies, workforces, societies, and national security. The analyst will conduct interdisciplinary research on how Anthropic addresses these challenges, synthesizing insights across the organization and producing rigorous analysis for both internal leadership and external audiences.

What you'd do

• Research and synthesize how Anthropic teams are tackling Institute focus areas into coherent organizational understanding
• Partner with internal teams to surface and communicate their insights to external audiences
• Produce written analysis and memos for leadership and public consumption on AI policy implications
• Collaborate on developing and publishing public-facing outputs and demonstrations
• Conduct independent research using Claude and organizational resources to deepen analysis
• Act as connective tissue between teams to integrate cross-functional insights

What they're looking for

• Minimum seven years in technical policy research, think tank, or applied research in AI, labor economics, national security, or emerging technology governance
• Published track record across policy memos, research reports, white papers, or public analysis
• Ability to operate at intersection of technical and policy audiences without being an ML researcher
• Capacity to read and critically engage with technical work and translate findings for non-technical stakeholders
• Demonstrated synthesis across multiple disciplines including economics, political science, technology, or organizational behavior
• Deep experience using Claude for research and knowledge-gathering
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience in relevant field
