Analytics Data Engineer

The role

This analytics engineer role is an early position on Anthropic's Data Science & Analytics team, responsible for establishing foundational data systems across the organization. The engineer will partner with Engineering, Product, and Go-To-Market teams to create reliable metrics, pipelines, and dashboards that enable data-driven decisions company-wide.

What you'd do

• Translate stakeholder data requirements into technical specifications for key metrics and reporting
• Design and maintain production data pipelines using dbt to process raw logs into standardized datasets
• Establish data quality standards and service-level agreements for timely accurate delivery
• Create dashboards and visualization tools that surface critical business metrics
• Build self-serve analytics products and tools enabling teams to access insights independently
• Advise Product and GTM roadmaps based on data architecture perspective
• Develop deep expertise in organizational data models and systems

What they're looking for

• Minimum five years as analytics engineer or related data analytics role
• Proven experience building multi-step ETL workflows and data models with dbt
• Proficiency with orchestration platforms such as Airflow
• Strong SQL and Python skills for data transformation and modeling
• Experience creating dashboards and reports in visualization tools like Hex
• Demonstrated ability to work with GTM and Product teams on company metrics
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
• Version control expertise using GitHub
