ANZ Communications Lead

The role

Anthropic seeks its first communications lead for the ANZ region to develop and execute comprehensive communications campaigns that elevate the organization's brand presence. Reporting to the US-based Corporate Communications lead, this role bridges technical AI research with broader stakeholder audiences across a fast-paced, complex geopolitical landscape.

What you'd do

• Develop and execute regional communications strategies aligned with company priorities and brand positioning
• Create messaging frameworks and talking points for major announcements and organizational milestones
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with journalists, media outlets, and regional opinion leaders
• Coordinate cross-functional efforts with sales, marketing, legal, research, and policy teams
• Advise senior leadership on communications strategy and stakeholder engagement
• Identify, plan for, and mitigate potential communications and reputational risks
• Coordinate executive visibility through media interviews and public speaking opportunities
• Manage relationships with external communications agencies and service providers

What they're looking for

• Minimum 12 years of communications experience in senior roles at high-growth technology firms
• Demonstrated success executing communications campaigns across Australia and New Zealand markets
• Expertise in media relations, issues management, and crisis communications
• Deep knowledge of ANZ political, regulatory, and business landscapes
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities
• Proven ability to translate technical concepts into accessible, compelling narratives
• Experience collaborating effectively across technical and non-technical organizational functions
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience

• Background in AI or emerging technology communications
• Experience communicating about AI safety and ethics to diverse audiences
• Track record of proactive and reactive communications excellence
