Communications Lead, Infrastructure and Engineering

The role

This is a senior communications role focused on external narrative building around Claude's performance, reliability, and inference capabilities. The position sits within Anthropic's Product Communications team and partners closely with engineering and product leadership to translate complex technical work into credible, compelling stories across multiple audiences.

What you'd do

• Own external communications strategy for Claude's inference and reliability narratives across product launches and ongoing updates
• Develop high-level narratives and technical translations that resonate with developers, customers, and media
• Build messaging frameworks that make complex engineering topics accessible without sacrificing accuracy
• Lead coordinated communications response when technical or engineering issues require cross-functional alignment
• Partner with product organization early to integrate brand and user impact considerations into communications decisions
• Coach engineering and product leaders to become effective public speakers for media, podcasts, and industry panels
• Demonstrate strong audience intelligence and adjust messaging strategy across channels and communities

What they're looking for

• Eight to twelve years of communications experience in infrastructure, engineering, or technical products
• Deep familiarity with where technical conversations occur online, including developer forums and social platforms
• Genuine curiosity about how customers experience system performance, capacity, and reliability
• Ability to write with precision and accuracy on complex technical and sensitive topics
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience demonstrating relevant expertise

Nice to have

• Understanding of both traditional media and emerging platforms where technical communities engage
• High agency, low ego approach with bias toward action
• Existing relationships with reporters and analysts covering AI, engineering, or developer ecosystems
