Communications Specialist, Product

The role

This role supports external communications for Anthropic's products, particularly Claude, within the Product Communications team. You'll translate complex AI capabilities into accessible narratives for developers, customers, journalists, and creators, owning feature launch communications and supporting major product announcements.

What you'd do

• Manage communications strategy and execution for feature updates and product launches from conception through delivery
• Identify and surface compelling launch stories and capability demonstrations, matching each to appropriate channels
• Create communications materials including press releases, talking points, FAQs, blog posts, and internal briefing documents
• Build and maintain relationships with journalists, newsletter creators, podcasters, and influencers covering AI
• Prepare company leaders and spokespeople for media engagement and public visibility
• Coordinate messaging across press, social media, owned channels, and community platforms

What they're looking for

• 5-8 years of communications or PR experience at an AI company, research institution, or technical product organization
• Active user of Claude with informed perspective on product strengths and weaknesses
• Experience launching frontier models or technically complex products
• Existing network of journalists and creators covering AI industry
• Strong product intuition and ability to assess timing and tone in AI conversations
• Excellent writing skills across multiple formats and audiences
• Deep familiarity with technical communities including developer forums, social platforms, and tech news sites
• Collaborative mindset and ability to work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical teams
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
