Data Analyst III

The role

This senior analyst role owns the complete analytics lifecycle for designated business areas at Brex, moving beyond dashboard creation to frame strategic questions, conduct rigorous statistical analyses, and deliver actionable insights to leadership. The position sits at the intersection of analytics, analytics engineering, and business strategy, requiring collaboration across data teams and senior stakeholders while mentoring junior analysts.

What you'd do

• Own complete analytics workflow from problem definition through stakeholder communication for assigned business domains
• Design and maintain dashboards and self-service reporting enabling teams to track performance and make informed decisions
• Write production-grade SQL and Python code for large-scale data extraction, transformation, and analysis
• Collaborate with data engineers and scientists on analytical models, pipelines, and data quality assurance
• Partner with leadership across multiple departments to identify high-impact opportunities and deliver recommendations
• Mentor junior analysts and establish team standards, documentation, and analytical frameworks
• Identify data infrastructure gaps and propose improvements to team tooling and processes

What they're looking for

• Minimum five years in data analytics, business intelligence, or quantitative analytical work
• At least three years embedded with Sales, Operations, Product, or equivalent business teams
• Advanced SQL including CTEs, window functions, optimization, and complex data model navigation
• Python proficiency for analysis, automation, and modeling using standard libraries
• Cloud data warehouse experience, particularly Snowflake
• Hands-on BI and visualization tool experience such as Looker or Tableau
• Strong stakeholder management with ability to communicate technical findings to non-technical audiences
• Experience leveraging generative AI and LLM tools for analysis acceleration and self-service tool development

Nice to have

• Applied statistical methods experience including regression, classification, and A/B testing
• dbt data modeling and transformation expertise
• Data pipeline orchestration tools like Airflow
• API-based data ingestion and integration
• Git version control familiarity
• Fintech, financial services, or payments industry background
• Track record leading cross-functional analytics projects end-to-end
