Solutions Engineer, Tokyo

The role

This Solutions Engineering role sits at the intersection of sales and product at Notion, supporting enterprise customers navigating complex deployments and integrations. As an early team member, you'll be instrumental in building out Notion's sales-assisted motion while serving as the technical bridge between customer needs and product capabilities.

What you'd do

• Partner with sales team on customer engagements for prospects and existing accounts
• Address technical inquiries, RFPs, and security assessments with precision
• Guide customers through deployment and integration of Notion solutions
• Design and demonstrate tailored Notion configurations aligned with customer workflows
• Gather and structure customer feedback for product and engineering teams
• Collaborate with marketing on technical messaging and educational content
• Train sales organization on product capabilities and competitive landscape
• Build internal documentation and knowledge resources for teams and partners
• Represent Notion at industry events and customer conferences

What they're looking for

• Minimum four years in technical sales engineering or solutions architecture roles
• Ability to understand and explain API usage for advanced workflows
• Experience with third-party integrations including identity, data loss prevention, and security platforms
• Demonstrated project management skills with complex initiatives
• Native-level Japanese proficiency and business-level English communication
• Growth mindset suited to early-stage team building
• High adaptability in fast-changing environments

Nice to have

• First or early employee experience at scaling startups
• Prior experience using Notion
• Basic scripting capability with Notion API
• Relational database design knowledge
