Analyst, Licensing Finance – FP&A

The role

This analyst role sits within Spotify's Licensing Finance team, bridging deal strategy and cost forecasting across the music business. You'll model major label licensing agreements, forecast royalty expenses, and deliver insights that shape long-term financial strategy through collaboration with Licensing, Legal, Royalty Operations, Data, Product, and Finance teams.

What you'd do

• Evaluate and model global major label licensing agreements with Licensing, Accounting, and Legal partners
• Build financial models with scenario and sensitivity analyses to assess deal economics and margin impacts
• Translate complex contract terms into clear financial implications for leadership
• Support music royalties forecasting by incorporating deal-specific financial impacts
• Analyze monthly and quarterly royalty performance against forecasts, explaining variances
• Partner with Data and Engineering to improve forecasting accuracy and cost visibility
• Develop and track KPIs monitoring deal performance and cost structure impacts
• Contribute to process improvements and analytical tooling enhancements

• Minimum 2 years in analytical roles such as consulting, investment banking, or strategic finance
• Advanced SQL proficiency and experience with large complex datasets
• Strong financial modeling skills with scenario analysis expertise
• Experience using AI tools to enhance analytical work

• Clear communication ability translating complex analysis for non-technical audiences
