Content Designer, Personalization

The role

This content designer role sits within Spotify's Personalization Design team, focusing on how listeners interact with AI-powered discovery features like Discover Weekly and AI DJ. You'll define the voice, tone, and language strategy for agentic, LLM-powered experiences, ensuring users can intuitively express intent and understand recommendations. The position bridges language design, product systems, and emerging AI technology at global scale.

What you'd do

• Lead content strategy and voice guidelines for agentic product experiences
• Design prompts, system instructions, and conversational flows for generative features
• Create reusable prompt templates, guardrails, and evaluation frameworks with cross-functional teams
• Author and refine in-product language including microcopy, help text, error states, and notifications
• Collaborate with product, design, research, and engineering to translate user needs into content requirements
• Partner with engineers to design and execute human-in-the-loop evaluations for AI-generated text
• Participate in discovery, design critiques, and localization planning

What they're looking for

• Proven experience as a content designer and UX writer with a portfolio demonstrating complex language-based problem solving
• Background in conversation design and character development with applied voice and tone expertise
• Hands-on experience with large language models, prompt design, and evaluation methodologies
• Understanding of zero-shot versus few-shot prompting and ability to iterate instructions for specific tonal outputs
• Capability to navigate ambiguity and collaborate across teams on complex, multi-surface flows
• Ability to work in Eastern Standard time zone for team collaboration

Nice to have

• Experience with LLM-as-a-Judge evaluation frameworks
• Evaluation scaling expertise
• Basic scripting proficiency for testing prompts in notebooks
• Near-native fluency in a second language
